Under the agreement, UHS, one of the first consulting firms in the Middle East to be ISO 9001 certified in the field of healthcare and hospital design, with more than 25 years of experience in the sector, will provide consulting services related to the planning and procurement of medical equipment for the Kingdom University Hospital.
Dr. Sarhan expressed his optimism about this strategic partnership, noting that it will ensure a structured approach to medical equipment procurement. He emphasized that this process is critical to both academic and clinical applications, enabling effective use of resources and enhancing the quality of healthcare services to be delivered by the hospital.
The Kingdom Health Project includes the Kingdom University Hospital, scheduled to be completed and operational in 2027, with a capacity of 330 beds, 72 outpatient clinics, a specialized Children’s Hospital, and five Centers of Excellence focused on the most prevalent diseases in Jordan and the region. It also comprises the Kingdom University of Health Sciences, which will host four research centers in genomics, precision medicine, stem cells, bioinformatics, and public health. The university will accommodate 600 students, with 100 seats per academic year.
The Kingdom Health Project is developed in partnership with two of the world’s leading institutions in healthcare and medical education: University College London (UCL) Medical School as its academic partner, and UCLA Health as its clinical affiliate. With a total investment of USD 400 million, the project aims to expand its collaborations with leading institutions locally, regionally, and globally, building on Jordan’s rich legacy of medical excellence.
