Integrating Sustainability at KU
Integrating Sustainability at KU
The Kingdom University of Health Sciences aims to be a leader in sustainable research practices. Recognizing the environmental impact of laboratory-based research, which contributes to 2% of global plastic waste and consume 3-10 times more energy than typical office spaces, we are committed to minimizing our footprint. Through innovative initiatives, KU will reduce waste, conserve energy, and promote sustainable research practices.
Announcing Our Participation in LEAF
We are thrilled to announce that the Kingdom University of Health Sciences will be part of UCL's Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework (LEAF). LEAF is a leading program helping labs reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainability. Laboratories participating in LEAF can achieve bronze, silver, or gold certifications based on their implementation of sustainable practices. This framework not only supports environmental stewardship but also enhances research quality by fostering efficient and responsible laboratory environments.
