About The Program
The School of Medicine at the Kingdom University of Health Sciences inaugural undergraduate medicine (MD) program integrates cutting-edge medical education with emerging sciences, including bioinformatics, data science, genomics, and cell therapy. From year one, students gain supervised clinical exposure, ensuring early hands-on experience in patient care.
The program is designed to be research-intensive, delivered on a purpose-built campus alongside a modern teaching hospital. This innovative curriculum equips future physicians with the skills to navigate the evolving landscape of modern healthcare and biomedical research.
Spanning six years, the program offers a unique opportunity for students to spend their third year at University College London (UCL), gaining international experience at one of the world's top 10 universities.
Building the Foundation (Years 1 - 3)
The initial three years focus on establishing a solid scientific foundation for the study of medicine, with early and progressive clinical immersion. In the third year, students delve deeper into a specific scientific discipline with a potential to undertake a research project at one of our four research centers:
- Genomics and Precision Medicine
- Bioinformatics, AI, and Data Science
- Stem Cells and Advanced Cellular Therapies
- Public Health and Health Systems
From Knowledge To Skill (Years 4-6)
The final three years focus on clinical practice, seamlessly integrating theory and application. We emphasize the clinical relevance of scientific concepts from the start, reinforcing them in training. This approach ensures students develop a holistic understanding and essential skills and attitude towards medicine.
The program structure is designed to optimize clinical placements, ensuring a balanced learning experience for students throughout the year.
Our vertical modules are designed to provide a holistic and integrated approach to medical education. The vertical modules run concurrently with the horizontal modules. Taught and assessed throughout all six years of the program by subject specialists and practicing clinicians, these modules focus on clinical practice, professional development, and key knowledge and skills that are best learned linearly.
